The V30 Plus might be LG’s best phone yet. It’s a radical departure from the V10 and V20 and could prove to be a turning point for the brand.
It doesn’t look like a premium handset, but the build quality is top-notch and feels great. That’s important, as it’s often how consumers decide on a device.
A screen protector is an easy and cost-effective way of protecting your LG V30 Plus from everyday wear and tear. The constant scuffing and scratching of your smartphone’s screen weaken the surface, which makes it more susceptible to failure if it is subjected to a direct impact like a drop.
The P-OLED screen on the Lg V30 Plus is a 6-inch FullVision display with an 18:9 ratio. It offers vibrant and authentic colors, stunning contrast, and eye-opening clarity.
Unfortunately, it has some issues with HDR content and a noticeable blue cast when viewing the screen off-angle. Thankfully, these problems are rare but can be pretty frustrating.
LG is taking its V-series a step further with this year’s offering. It continues offering complete manual control over both stills and video, allowing users to access settings other photographers have used in similar situations to get more natural-looking results.
The 16-megapixel primary camera has a fast f/1.6 aperture. This is the widest aperture on a smartphone, supposedly allowing more light to enter the lens, and improving low-light photography.
The primary camera delivers acceptable results regarding image quality, though it’s a bit softer compared to past LG phones. For instance, you can see less detail when viewing 100% crops and a tendency to produce an oil-painting effect on complex objects like trees and leaves.
The LG V30 Plus is an impressive phone. It has a great camera, a speedy processor, a giant OLED screen, and excellent battery life.
It also has a quad DAC which is a must-have for audiophiles. This is the first phone with MQA support, and it’s a fantastic feature!
The display is also a fantastic experience on this phone, it has a vast 6-inch OLED screen with FullVision technology. It has a resolution of 1440×2880 pixels, and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
The LG V30 Plus is excellent for fans of top-of-the-line specs and audio quality. It also offers several unique features, like its quad DAC and IP68 water resistance.
Its design is also a big step from LG’s G6 and V20. However, it doesn’t stand out from the crowd like previous models.
Battery life is excellent, and you’ll likely get through a whole day without needing a charge. The only downside is that it doesn’t have a removable battery, which some Android fans might be disappointed about. But it’s a sacrifice worth making for the other benefits. It’s also IP68-rated to withstand water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
The LG V30 Plus is one of the last flagship smartphones to be released in 2017. It has everything you would expect in a smartphone from this year: a bezel-less display, dual rear cameras, IP68 durability, wireless charging, a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC, and more.
The design also takes some inspiration from Samsung’s Galaxy S8. It’s a beautiful mix of glass and metal with curves in all the right places.
It’s also one of the most comfortable devices I’ve ever held. That’s thanks partly to its slimmer profile, which means it’s easier to maintain than most of the competition.
