Laveen’s commercial development is flourishing rapidly, with new shops and restaurants opening across town. Some spaces have been renovated from old buildings while others are constructed entirely new.

Laveen, located 8 miles west of Phoenix, has experienced rapid expansion over recent years and now enjoys close access to recreational activities nearby. Residents love living here!

1. Lumberjaxes Axe Throwing

Axe throwing was once just a rugged pastime enjoyed by lumberjacks and outdoor enthusiasts but has since evolved into a trendy professional sport with competitive axe-throwing events in six countries and 150 cities worldwide. Additionally, many people now practice it socially as a way of bonding with friends and family through shared experiences and fun activities.

Pittsburgh natives Corey Deasy and Jack Welsh saw an opportunity in axe throwing when it began taking off, so they launched Pittsburgh’s inaugural axe-throwing joint in 2016. Since then, similar facilities have opened their doors in Millvale, Mt Lebanon, and Cranberry Township – now expanding to Arizona by taking over an ample industrial space at Westgate Mall Phoenix.

This 13,000-square-foot restaurant, bar, and sporting venue will offer an engaging axe-throwing experience and an inviting lounge featuring 30 TVs. There will also be an eatery curated by their celebrity chef featuring culinary selections explicitly curated for them. In addition, private events of up to 500 people can be hosted here with 13 target lanes that accommodate eight guests each time!

Lumberjaxes is Phoenix-Tempe’s inaugural competitive axe-throwing facility. Adults of all skill levels are invited to unleash their inner lumberjack in this cavernous warehouse, where they can compete in either one-hour round-robin sessions or hour-bracket elimination championships. Following a short safety briefing and rules explanation, the action begins! Guests then enjoy drinks from our scratch kitchen and appetizers or pizza from our wide variety of menu items in addition to specialty cocktails made with preservative- and additive-free cold-pressed mixers!

Dave & Buster’s, the restaurant and entertainment chain, will open its Queen Creek Marketplace location at 21000 S Ellsworth Loop Rd in 2023. Known for providing an exciting arcade experience to adults and children of all ages, redeeming tickets earned and playing games for prizes is part of its appeal. Alongside classic arcade games, there’s also an extensive selection of beer and spirits on tap at this establishment.

Vestar Retail Development Group’s Laveen Towne Center will feature a mixture of department stores, entertainment venues, and specialty shops on a 40-acre former farm site near Dobbins Road and 59th Avenue – this project being located near the historic Hudson Farmhouse. Vestar previously completed two similar developments – Tempe Marketplace and Desert Ridge Marketplace.

Laveen will soon see other retail developments. On the east side of Baseline Road, Peter Piper Pizza and an Herbal Nail Salon are expected to open soon; on its west side are plans for Smashburger, Dunkin’ Donuts, T-Mobile stores as well as Starbucks, Zoyo and Firehouse Subs locations.
