Redmi Note 4 Review

The Redmi Note 4 is one of the most affordable phones available today. It offers a decent display, fast performance, and excellent battery life.

The phone comes with a 5.5-inch FHD display that has 2.5D curved glass. It also features a MediaTek Helio X20 processor and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

Display

The Redmi Note 4 is a well-built device that’s packed with features. It’s powered by a MediaTek Helio X20 SoC, runs Android 6.0, and comes with a 4,100mAh battery.

It’s also a dual-SIM phone. The 16GB version of the Redmi Note 4 has a microSD card slot and can be expanded to 128GB with additional storage.

The phone’s bright, colorful, and vibrant display offers excellent color accuracy. It also has a blue light filter, making it easier to read in the dark.

The display on the Redmi Note 4 has a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) 401ppi IPS panel that provides vivid colors and crisp text. It’s one of the best displays in this price range and does an excellent job of balancing brightness and viewing angles.

Camera

The Redmi Note 4 features a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 lens and phase detection autofocus. It supports HD video recording at 30 frames per second and has several camera modes.

Images come out well in well-lit conditions with good color accuracy and details. However, the camera also struggles in low-light situations where parties are noisy, and highlights are clipped frequently.

Xiaomi also claims that the camera has a hardware-level image processing technology that adjusts pixel levels across each photo’s dynamic range, even under low light. This is called Low Light Quality Enhancement Technology, and it improves the overall quality of photos taken in poor lighting conditions.

The device also features a fingerprint sensor, a notification LED, and a Micro-USB port for data syncing and charging. It has a hybrid SIM tray that can accommodate two nano-SIMs or one Nano-SIM and a MicroSD card (up to 128GB).

Performance

The Redmi Note 4 is one of the best available if you’re looking for a budget smartphone. It has a powerful SoC, a premium-looking design, and a good camera.

Note 4 is powered by a MediaTek Helio X20 SoC. Though the name suggests it’s a downgrade from the Snapdragon 650 in the Redmi Note 3, that’s not necessarily true.

It’s a much more power-efficient SoC than the Snapdragon 625 in the Moto G5 Plus and Meizu Pro 6. In addition to being better for battery life, it performs better than those phones when running benchmarks.

The Redmi Note 4 is also a better-looking phone than the Redmi Note 3. It sports an all-metal chassis with antenna lines across the top and bottom for signal reception. It also has chamfered edges that make it more comfortable to hold.

Battery

The Redmi Note 4 uses the same 4,100 mAh non-removable battery as the Redmi Note 3; its power-efficient 14nm Snapdragon 625 processor helps the phone last longer. It also features some battery management traits that allow it to shut down power-hungry apps and optimize the battery life.

Xiaomi claims a 2-day battery life with medium use, including music playback, YouTube videos, gaming, web browsing, and voice calls. That’s a pretty impressive score, especially for a mid-range smartphone.

It can still beat several flagship phones, such as the HTC 10, OnePlus 3T, and Galaxy S7. It also lasts longer than the Meizu Pro 6, which uses the same Helio X25 SoC but has a smaller 2560 mAh battery.
